Now this is what I call a guest review!

Some guests tell you while they are staying how much they enjoyed the visit, others will write you a review on Trip Advisor but then there are guests like Pip Faulks who do you a promotional video!!!!!!!!!!

This is her Trip Advisor Review http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g294205-d1174145-r205351056-Flats_in_Luxor-Luxor_Nile_River_Valley.html

As a newly single woman on her 7th trip to Luxor, but the first staying alone on the West Bank, I couldn’t have been more welcomed and looked after. Jane, Mahmoud and Little Mohammed make your stay safe, exciting and comfortable – anywhere you want to visit, your wish is their command; anything you need, just ask and it appears! For all those wanting something different from a typical hotel holiday on the East Bank, this is for you.

Luxor is perfectly safe for tourists and the locals really need more visitors to help them survive – this is their livelihood – if you want a holiday in one of the most beautiful locations in the world, this is the place to be. I came here for a spiritual retreat to write, paint and contemplate life in general, who could ask for more?

The flats at Al Gezera are a superb base for all the sites on the West Bank and the ferry to the East Bank is just 5 minutes walk – but Jane can conjure a car up for you to go near or far with just a bit of notice. Small shops offer basic supplies and fresh veg/fruit and bread – there is a deli, numerous coffee shops and service buses that zip up and down to the ferry for literally pennies. Food? Breakfast is included and lunch and dinner can be arranged on request – this is simple, fresh and delicious.Want to eat out? My favourite has to be El Fayrouz – superb food, drink and surroundings (especially the gorgeous kittens!) Visit

Medinet Habu for the most stunning remaining paintwork and spend time with the wonderful Guardians of the Temple who love to show you around. Then have a refreshing cup of tea at Maratonga, the cafe opposite the Temple. Head back to the flat and have a cold beer by the pool or talk to Jane about her life story and her studies – she will keep you enthralled for hours! Go on, go to Luxor – and enjoy!!
